Community Building at the PEAQS Student Retreat
Sarah Schreiner, CU Boulder
To strengthen the peer-peer network between students at both PEAQS institutions, build STROBE-PEAQS community, and expose PEAQS undergraduates to different materials science, imaging, and engineering research and careers, PEAQS hosted its first student retreat March 25-26th at CU Boulder.
The retreat featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Joe Berry from the National Renewable Energies Lab on cutting-edge solar energies materials, lab tours of STROBE and aerospace engineering labs, student presentations, a virtual tour of Ball Aerospace, a professional development interviewing workshop, and plenty of social time for the students to interact with and get to know their peers and STROBE graduate students.
Partnership for Education and Advancement of Quantum and nano-Sciences (PEAQS)
This initiative aims to advance cutting-edge materials science while leveraging expertise in nanoscale synthesis, characterization, and device integration. PEAQS addresses challenges in nanotherapeutics, nanoelectronics, and thermoelectrics.
