PEAQS student pathways

Sarah Schreiner, CU Boulder

Baldwin Varner started in PEAQS as a freshman physics major at NSU. Baldwin participated in research at CU Boulder all three summers at PEAQS and has a publication from his work. His research experiences led him to find his passion in software development and is now a software engineer at Leidos in Virginia. As Baldwin was preparing his application documents, he stated:

"I never realized how much this experience would make me a perfect fit for this career."

Dakota Rodriguez started in PEAQS as a rising junior. Dakota participated in multiple projects at FLC and spent a summer at CU Boulder. When Dakota started, he wanted to go straight into industry after undergrad. Dakota's experience in PEAQS changed his mind and he is now enrolled in the Materials Science graduate program at CU Boulder and will start in the fall of 2023.

Terrell Curley joined PEAQS early in his undergraduate career, unsure of his career path. While doing research at FLC, Terrell found a passion for nanofabrication and semiconductor technology. Terrell is now a Failure Analysis Engineer at Microchip Technology. Of Terrell's experience in PEAQS he states:

"(PEAQS) influenced me on how to put myself out there. It taught me how to communicate with each other and talk about how to solve problems. It prepared me on how to approach a problem and provide a solution to it. "
